Reminders

Deworming, vaccinations, follow-ups. Everything has a date.

Owners see what’s coming up and put it in their own calendar. The clinic plans revaccinations and control exams. The team keeps its own tasks. Three kinds of reminders — each in its place.

For owners

A parasite tracker: three fields and done.

A tick & flea tablet every 30 days, internal deworming every 3 months — enter the product, the interval in days and when it was last given. The next date works itself out.

  1. On trackmore than 14 days to the next dose
  2. Due soon14 days or fewer
  3. Overduethe date has passed

The status sits next to every product in your pet’s profile.

The date goes in your calendar — not in yet another app.

“Add to calendar” gives you an .ics file — an all-day event on the date of the next dose. Open it and it lands in the calendar on your phone or computer, where reminders already work the way you set them up.

  • Works with calendars that open .ics files
  • An all-day event on the date of the next dose
  • No calendar accounts or permissions needed

Besides the calendar event, VetCare also sends you a reminder by email (or text, where SMS is switched on) the day before. You can switch it off in your account. No push notifications.

From the clinic

The next vaccination is recorded at the visit.

When the vet gives a vaccine, they also enter when the next one is due. You see it in your pet’s profile as upcoming — and as overdue if it passes. At the clinic, the same visit creates the follow-ups: revaccination, control exam or annual exam.

  • The next vaccination date comes from the completed visit
  • Owners see it under “Vaccinations” — due soon or overdue
  • The reminder arrives by email (or text, where SMS is switched on) — the clinic chooses when, the owner chooses the channel
  • The team sees upcoming revaccinations, control and annual exams

For the team

Clinic tasks don’t get lost in a notebook.

Check the fridge every morning, place the supplier order every Friday, call about results today — one-off or recurring tasks for the people in the business.

  • One-off and recurring tasks
  • Tick a task off when it’s done
  • Internal only — never sent to clients

Questions about reminders

Will I get a notification or email about deworming?

Yes — an email the day before (or a text, where SMS is switched on), unless you switch it off in your account. Your pet’s profile also shows a status (on track, due soon, overdue) and you can add the date to your calendar with an .ics file.

How often should I deworm my dog or cat?

It depends on the product, your pet’s age and lifestyle — ask your vet. In the tracker you enter the interval they recommend, for example 30 or 90 days.

When does the tracker show “due soon”?

When the next dose is 14 days away or less. After the date passes, the status becomes “overdue”.

Where does the next vaccination date come from?

From the clinic. The vet enters it during the visit and you see it under “Vaccinations” in your pet’s profile.

Can I track several products for one pet?

Yes — for example a tick & flea tablet and a separate internal dewormer, each with its own interval and status.

Does the clinic send reminders to clients through VetCare?

Yes, by email. When the clinic records a reminder at a visit — revaccination, control or annual exam — VetCare sends it to the owner by email, and by text where SMS is switched on. The clinic chooses which reminders go out and when (for example a day and 2 hours before an appointment, 7 days before a vaccination); the owner chooses the channel or switches them off. Team tasks stay internal.
